10th March 2007 - Last night, we’re pleased to say, the village shop won second prize in the ‘Wiltshire Life Village Shop of the Year Awards’.
March 2007 - The village shop is now selling John Townend's book Broad Oceans.
March 2007 - There is also a coffee shop special of a cup or tea or coffee as well as a cake for only £1.25 – why not pop in today and get yours.
March 2007 - We also now have an array of leaflets and brochures for various activities in and around the village.
March 2007 - From 1st April 2007 the shop will be selling a brand new selection of wines and spirits.
2006's NEWS
29th November 2006 - The Village Shop's Christmas wine is now in stock and has been hand picked by resident wine expert Declan Walton. Once again Declan has selected two wines, the first being the Prosecco di Valdobbiadene, Endrizzi which is a dry white and can easily be seen as a match for the more expensive champagnes. The second wine Declan has selected is a red wine from the Abruzzi mountains in Italy. The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2004 La Piuma is, in Declan's savoured opinion, 'a scrumptious wine at an amazing price.' Both wines are available in shop now at amazing prices - the red is selling for just £3.99 a bottle and the white at only £7.50 a bottle.
28th November 2006 - Gift vouchers for use in the village shop are now available. The vouchers, which have a value of ?10 would be an ideal christmas present. Buy your's today in store!
28th November 2006 - The shop's very own 'Cheeky Calendar' featuring regular volunteers and staff from the village shop is now available to buy at a price of ?4.99 in the shop.
19th November 2006 - Christmas stock is now available to buy in the shop.
20th October 2006 - From Monday 13th November all of the shop's 2006 Christmas stock will be arriving and will be available to buy.
20th October 2006 - Over the past month we have been putting together a 'Steeple Ashton Village Shop 2007 Calendar' featuring regular voluteers and staff from the shop. Keep an eye out in the shop for the calendar!
1st October 2006 - Last night (30th September) saw the drinks party to celebrate the first birthday of the shop. There were approximately 60 guests at the party and all had a good time. There was even a visit from local MP Andrew Murrison. Thanks to everyone who was there and helped to make it a very special evening!
28th September 2006 - New to the shop this month are a variety of ready meals from a company called 'Look What We Found!' (see their website at lookwhatwefound.co.uk). The company describes their products as 'gourmet food for busy people', so why not pop in and see what you think. In the shop we stock the mushroom stroganoff, venison meatballs, mutton and the beef varieties and they are retailing at ?3.75 each.

2006 - Wine News From Thursday 14th September Declan's new Autumn Choice Wines collection will be available to buy in the shop! The selection includes the full-flavoured white wine from a long-established family of wine makers in Chile and has a flowery bouquet as fresh as the Andean air that nurtured it. This wine, along with the Chateau les Remises, were selected for their rich fruit flavours. Declan says 'I can recommend both these wines enthusiastically, you won't be disappointed.'

2006 - On Saturday 30th September, to celebrate the shops 1
year anniversary, we are selling Bath Chronicles for just 20p (instead of 40p)
and giving away a free bar of chocolate so long as you bring in one of the
coupons that are currently being distributed around the village.
